Google is the most popular search engine today and has become a part of our daily lives. Who doesn't use Google to check their Internet connectivity? I do:) How do we normally use Google search feature? We probably type in our desired keywords and phrase, right?

Google Searching Tip #1 : Exclude Words
Say you want to search for a term "blogging tips" but don't want to include any search results related to "expert". Than for that, you could use the :
Blogging Tips -experts
This would exclude the term "experts" in any search results.
Google Searching Tip #2 : Specific Phrase
In case you wish to search for a specific phrase for a more specific search results you could use:
With the use of double quotes. This would only search for the term Blogging Tips and nothing apart from it. This often helps, if you are looking for a very specific keyword in search results.
Google Searching Tip #3 : Searching For Similar Words
Now say you want to look for results that match up in context with similar keywords used in each, you could use:
"Blogging Tips" ~ pro
This would give out results for blogging tips pro as well as any thing that is similar to the word "pro", like may be "guru" or expert etc. The use of (") and (~) is important.
Google Searching Tip #4 : Searching Specific Site / Blog
To search a content from your favourite website or a blog directly through Google (if there is no searching option available on the site its self), then you may use:
"blogging tips" site:www.bloggingehow.com
This would give out results for "blogging tips" from this blog.

Google Searching Tip #5 : This OR That
Makes sense? You may tell Google to search for this term OR that term. Like if i want to search for they words "blogging tips" OR "make money online", i would use :
Blogging tips OR make money online
This can also be used :
Blogging tips || make money online
' || ' being the sign for OR operator. Make sure that you use capital 'OR'.
Google Searching Tip #6 : Specific Document Type
If you're looking for a power point presentation for you lecture in college on a particular topic, Google could help you out if you use:
"Physics project name" filetype:pptInteresting?
Google Searching Tip #7 : Looking For An Area Code
To search for a specific area code, we could use the following:
618That would show up the place that has area code 618.
Google Searching Tip #8 : Phone Listing
To search for a phone number and the certain information related to that number, you could search:
phonebook:634-595-4224*This number is just random and wont work if searched.
Google Searching Tip #9 :Stock (Use Ticker Symbols)
If you wish to search for the stock results and the stock charts, you could take out Google's help by searching for:

Google Searching Tip #10 : Numeric Range (This..to This)
Say you want to search out Top Footballers from 2000 to 2009 in Pakistan. You could use:
The importance is of " .. " (2 dots) that are used in between the numeric range.

Did you know that you could use Google as a calculator? Simply type in your desired equation and Google would work it out for you. Use it like:

Its pretty handy, i would say.

Use Google as a dictionary. Find out the meaning of any word like:

To get to know current time in popular cities you may search like:

Google Searching Tip #15 : Fill In The Blanks (*)
In case you are not sure to what to write in a blank within your phrase, you could use * placeholder that would tell Google to fill those spaces with relevant meaning to give results that are very close to your entire sentence. Use it like:
Obama voted * on the * bill

Google Searching Tip #16 : Exception Operator
Say you wish to search for 'The Who' that is- say a band. But when you search the keyword as you normally would, it wont show up what you want.
So by using :
It would show results for the 'The Who' term, that might be a band specifically.
Google Searching Tip #17 : Current Weather
To know the current weather of your city, use:
Weather in 'Your City Name'
