Everything that you share through your blog post becomes your property which becomes the subject to protection. This doesn't include just written content but also the images, videos and  some of the links that you share.

disable right click in bloggerSo, the question that must be revolving in your head is how to achieve such protection to your blog. The trick is not just utterly convenient, but also extremely straight forward to achieve.

You might have noticed on some of the blogs, that a right click on the blog area reveals an error message. This is because the blog owner has disabled the right click function on their website to avoid any direct copy of content or images from their blog to another.

How To Disable Right Click?

As mentioned earlier, you can use this simple trick to avoid plagiarism through your bloggers or websites. You just need to follow the steps given below:

Step # 1: Go To Dashboard > Layout > Add Gadget > HTML/ JavaScript

Step # 2: Copy the code given below and paste it inside HTML/ JavaScript

<script language=JavaScript>

var message="Function Denied!";
function clickIE4(){
if (event.button==2){
return false;

function clickNS4(e){
if (document.layers||document.getElementById&&!document.all){
if (e.which==2||e.which==3){
return false;

if (document.layers){
else if (document.all&&!document.getElementById){

document.oncontextmenu=new Function("alert(message);return false")

When you have finished embedding the above code, try making a right click on your blog website. You will  get a message of Function Denied. However if you want to change the error message, just find it in the code above and replace the string with the one that you want to appear when a user right clicks on your blog.

So its better if you make the changes in the script right away to ensure safety from plagiarism and copycats. Otherwise your blog might be targeted by amateur bloggers who want to advance their blogging business by copying articles instead of producing their own. Yes! there are many of them.
