Once you register (free) for the eBook on the squeeze page, you're then redirected to its Download page where you can get the eBook in PDF version. There, you would notice that the page automatically gets redirected after few seconds making sure that the reader is exposed to the blog's home page once he has downloaded the eBook.
You can implement this trick in a single step as mentioned below.
How to Redirect/Refresh a Page in Blogger (After a set time)?
Go to your Blogger Dashboard >> Posts or Page (what ever you wish to redirect from). Now simply hit Edit HTML of the post editor.
Once done, you can add the following meta tag that would actually refresh that certain page after a set time to another URL that you would specify.
Though this technique refreshes the page to another URL (can be same) rather than actually redirecting it.
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="5; url=http://www.bloggingehow.com">
- '5' = Time that you want to set after wish the page will get refreshed.
- http://www.bloggingehow.com = The new page where you want the visitor to go after that set time.
Now simple publish the post/page of your Blogger blog and you would see the redirection or rather page refresh process in place.
Where to Use this Technique?
Well, you can use it on multiple section of your blog/website where you feel a dead end. Dead ends are those pages or posts on your blog where the visitor would go to complete a certain task and would generally leave the page.
So by redirecting them to another page, you make sure that he stays engaged.
