Facebook Likes Funnel - How To Get 80% Subscription Optins

With Google hunting down web properties with their algo updates and forcing many to rethink their online business strategies, there is little webmasters can do in short term to gain subscribers fast.

When you experience massive traffic drop, there is one thing you may do apart from being depressed. It's wise to optimize your online strategy to provide you the maximum results for the traffic you already have.

increase facebook likes

Let's say you have 100k page views a month, and you tend to gather 30-40 Facebook likes per week, combined via blog/website and the Facebook fan page. With your traffic slipping every next day, you can follow couple of wise approaches that I have jot down below to optimize your Facebook likes opt ins to speed up the process of increasing your subscriber base.

On Blog/Website (On-page)

Strategy #1 Email Subscription funnel with Facebook Likes Plugin Embedded

The great thing about any subscription funnel is that it can be never ending, meaning by that the more you route your readers, the more chances you have to get him/her subscribed to your blog.

Though this can be tricky.

You might be thinking here, what exactly is the Subscription funnel after all? Well, lets get into it first.

A subscription funnel is basically where you first offer a valuable item to the readers, may that be an ebook, an online course, or just anything you feel is a valuable item for your readers and it's exactly what they might be looking for when they come to your blog/website via search engines.

So lets say a visitor jumps on to BloggingeHow. You see, there are couple of ways I make sure that the visitor converts into a subscriber. If I pass, that's the most valuable thing I could have done to my brand.

Even if the guy doesn't read another page on the blog (which could increase my traffic), still, him/her being in my subscription list, may that be email subscription or into any social media profiles, is the ultimate goal one could think of.

The very obvious reason being the fact that you could build an ever lasting relationship with the subscriber and interact with him for the rest of your brand's life.

How's that? Interesting.

Screen shot below displays one of the squeeze page's of BloggingeHow where I offer my eBook
"6 Months to a 1000$ blog" for free. You can download it here too.

Once the visitor hits the squeeze page and downloads the ebook, he is redirected to a 'Thank You' page where they can download the ebook.

The real fun begins here.

I ask my subscribers to simply like the Facebook page to support the cause, and guess what, people do actually respond back pretty well.

As far as you're providing them the value, in our case an eBook that has a lot of stuff that otherwise they would have to pick up in bits and pieces around the web.

So, as per the statistics so far that I'm getting, about 70-80% people hit the like button once they land on the download page. It's pretty amazing. You can play around with the design of your landing pages to increase their conversion rates.

Testing is the key here. Keep note of every single, even the slightness change can make a huge difference.

This not only helps us convert a single visitor into an email subscriber, but also adds him on the social list. Which is great.

Now imagine, the more resources you have to offer for free on the blog, the more funnels you could create and like wise increase the optin rates overall.

Strategy #2 Placing/Using Facebook Like Plugin Intelligently

Placing the Facebook social plugins (Like buttons, Like boxes) on the blog intelligently is another wise step you could take for your blog's social subscription rates.

Below are few best places to place Facebook  like button/like boxes.

1- Above posts
2- Top-Sidebar
3- Below post title
4- Below post
5- Above comments
6- Besides navigation bar
7- Besides logo

The above spots would attack the maximum attention so you could definitely try them out and place the social plugins there.

Off-Page (Optimizing Your Facebook Page)

Here comes the real deal. We all underestimate the power of optimizing Facebook pages and I see very few Facebook pages fully optimized to avail any single opportunity to gather the subscriptions.

Below are few steps you could take for your Facebook Page's optimization.

1- Optimize the cover with call to action

Notice BloggingeHow's Facebook Cover. It Attracts the visitors to click the cover so that they could download the eBook that we have to offer. Once they click it, they would be able to get the link (placed in the cover description) that would take them to the squeeze page we created for the eBook.

2- Optimize the profile picture (of Facebook Page)

The same goes for the Brand logo. Simply place the link to the squeeze page/funnel entry point in the description of the logo.

3- Facebook Custom Tabs

You can also use some custom tabs for your Facebook page when  could lead to an app with your landing page right on Facebook too. You could also do a redirect custom tab which would redirect the visitor to your blog too.

If you can't put in the time to create a custom tab for your Facebook page, you can use Decor tool to do so. It gives you the liberty to upload your tab image, which is what you want. You can also customize the landing page as you wish.

I hope couple of these tips would help you increase the optin rates for your Facebook subscription.

Take action today. Peace out.
